LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!

In this season of Republican Primaries, I decided to have some fun. Since I am a comic book fan, I am going to be creative. Since we have four candidates for the Primaries, I am going to call them THE FANTASTIC FOUR! But, wait a minute, there are three men and a woman! How do you get around to that? Hollywood, always, changes the Superhero format when it comes to the big screen! In other words, Hollywood, rarely, follows the true comic book background of the Super hero. Case in point, In the 1989 movie of the BATMAN, his parents killer was Joe Chill, not the Joker!

So, as the director of this epic plot, I will change the female superhero to a male superhero. So, thus we have the Invisible Man! Now, what characters in the Fantastic Four shall I make my comparision? Reed Richards, alias Mr. Fantastic, would be Mitt Romney, trying to encompass the Conservative public. Stretching from Romney Care to Conservative causes, Romney has quite a distance to cover. His intelligence on gathering dirt on his fellow conservatives is impressive!

Johnny Storm, alias the Human Torch would be Rick Santorum. He is one to keep the fires burning, after his slight setback in South Carolina. Yelling FLAME ON, Rick did good on the caucuses and other primary States. Will someone pour water on him and turn the fires off or will he dodge it to victory? Only time will tell. Newt would be Ben Grimm, alias THE THING!

With his CLOBBERING TIME slogan, Newt made hay of the debates to deliver the knockout blow and win the hearts of South Carolina. Meanwhile, Ron Paul gets to drum up the stealth crowd, making many wonder where are those people coming from-Thus earning him the title of the INVISIBLE MAN! Their main objective is to defeat President Obama alias Dr. DOOM in November. To conservatives, Obama represents DOOMSDAY!

The thing to see is that that the Fantastic Four will soon be reduced to a trio. Marvel comics, always, had a knack for killing off Superheroes. Case in point, Bucky Barnes who was Captain America's sidekick! Who will be the one to "die" and fade off the scene? Will it be Ron Paul (Invisible Man), Newt Gingrich (The Thing) or Johnny Storm(Human Torch)? Face it, folks, Romney (Mr. Fantastic) isn't going nowhere! He's the Star of the show!

THE THREE STOOGES?

As soon as one member of the Fantastic Four "dies", will they become the three Musketeers? One for all and all for one? Or on the other hand, will the infighting continue, with Romney being Moe, the leader? "Spread out"-- would be Moe's favorite word when untangling the Stooges mess! Who would be Curly or Larry? If Mr.Fantastic (Mitt Romney) gets elected, he would have a hard time trying to convince people of eliminating Obama care, when he, himself, modeled a similar one called Romney Care? I see Dr.Doom scoring some points on this debate!

LET'S BE FAIR!

OK, Liberals and democrats, let's be fair. Let's put President Obama as the Superhero! Who would he be? Superman, with his mighty powers far beyond mortal men? Batman, avenger of the night? Or the Incredible Hulk? I always remember Dr. Banner saying-You don't want to see me mad! One word of caution to the Republican party, Do not underestimate your enemy. Years ago, people thought that President Clinton was finished back in 1996, but came back to score a victory against Bob Dole!

Finally, who would the four villians be from the Republican primary? I will leave it to your imagination. One thing is for sure, Hero or Villan, there is going to be one victor! Who will it be? Next ish-Nuff Said! (To quote Stan Lee!)

Great metaphors. Taking perspectives to the extreme, as comics do (both paper and stand-up), builds a mirror for us to see reality more as it is rather than as we fear it is. I like this approach. Of course, few know that Conservatives are called "the right" and Liberals "the left" because of the side of the British Parliament they set on. And few remember that Conservative and Liberal originally meant "leave things as they are" and "change what is to something else (presumably better)". There was a time when Liberals wanted to abolish slavery in England, and Conservatives in Parliament battled to maintain the use of slavery.

In the United States, early in the 21st century, the prevailing winds are that Conservative is some form of good, while Liberal is some form of evil. Comics is a good metaphor when good and evil and invoked as representing a set of beliefs. Good job!
