ASTHMA CAN BE A KILLER!

Asthma has affected many a household. Some may have lost a friend or loved one. There is no cure for Asthma. In a study from the American academy of allegy, asthma and Immunology, 250,000 people worldwide have died due to asthmatic attacks. While we see that there is no cure for Asthma, we can certainly take steps to control it.

How does an asthmatic attack begin? It starts, sometimes, with a certain tightness in your chest. Your airways starts to get constricted. Breathing becomes a chore and every breath is a nightmare. The key to this is staying calm and not lay down. Many a times, laying down will complicate an attack. It is best to sit down and if it continues, seek Medical help.

There are preventive ways to stop an attack in its tracks. Some Asthma sufferers have experienced relief drinking hot caffeinated coffee. Caffeine has an ingredient that can aid in stopping an attack and helps to restore your breathing. Another way to avoid an episode is to try to prevent getting a cold or flu as that will complicate the symptoms and make it worse.

It is always a good idea to have a follow up with your doctor and let him(her) recommend treatment and medicine. Follow your doctor's instructions to the letter and do not play with your medication. You have to be careful with inhalers because some fatalities have been reported because of overdose. If you are a smoker, I would, strongly, recommend quiting. Smoking can complicate your symptoms and make it worse.

A visit to an Allergy specialist is, also, recommended. Take an allergy test and find out what causes an attack. Many are allergic to foods, others to dogs and cats. There are types of asthma that are stress related. Sometimes, a change in jobs is recommended. I heard a story of a man who used to work in a pet store. He had bad asthmatic attacks. Upon taking a allergy test, he found out that he was allergic to some pets in the store. He quit his job and problem solved. I know in this age and time, it is not easy to quit your job, but you cannot put a price on health.

Other alternatives...

Other alternatives are Black tea. Black tea has helped many asthma sufferers experience relief. You can get Black tea at some dollar stores! Also, going to a health store is recommended. There are some healthy supplements that can aid and help you with your asthma. It is a good rule of thumb, though, to check with your doctors before starting with these alternatives.

Prayer can help. I was stricken with asthma for 20 years and can say with all certainly, that the Lord healed me. Hospitalized 2 times, I almost died.I can identify with the struggle to breathe. Many a times, I felt like my chest would explode. The despair that one feels is beyond description.

One day in prayer, the Lord directed me to go on a fast and I got healed. While I don't like to set this in stone and says this will work for everyone, this helped me to get healed. Whether you believe it or not, I have not used my inhaler for a long time and intend to keep it that way. If you are interested in learning how prayer works, take some time and look at my website....www.rhema56.com. When I look back at my life and see how much I struggled to breathe, I have to thank the Lord for pulling me through. Now, with each breath, I feel free and can say that nothing is impossible to him who believes. God bless.
